This is an original drawing made by artist Verónica Silva. Part of a series of three. Around the fact that people seem to be more open to hate than to love, to attack than to try to understand.

Did you know we tend to hear and pay more attention to things that confirm our beliefs? Which is to say that when someone says otherwise we automatically "shut" the hearing down. So, when you're speaking with someone that thinks differently from you, aknowledge this and try to really hear them out before shutting them out. Maybe we'll learn something new or teach something new, or at least we'll practice empathy and wear the other shoes for a while. Ultimatly your view of the world will grow wider. So, what's there to lose? Hear more. Love. Spread it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Giclée?

"A true giclée print refers to an archival print made from an inkjet printer equipped with a highly permanent set of inks in a wide range of colors. Artists, galleries, and collectors seek out giclée prints because of their unmatched standard of digital reproduction, and archival longevity." - from Brooklyn Editions

My giclées are made in a printshop specialized in this work. They use 12 colours to print it, so the end result is closer to the original work. They combine mineral pigment-based paints with archival quality paper for longevity.

Aging estimates – based on laboratory tests – point to a resistance to fading and colour change of more than 200 years under ideal conditions (storage in the dark at 22.7ºC and 50% RH), and up to 86 years when exposed under glass.

Where are these made?

All made with love in Portugal.

How is it shipped?

Both prints and originals on paper are shipped inside a PLA (more eco-friendly) or OPP envelope* to protect them from humidity. They're also wrapped, and then cardboard is added for support/to avoid bending. Then it is shipped in a cardboard envelope.

*It's not ideal, but necessary, and I'm always on the lookout for more sustainable alternatives.
