This is a limited edition giclée print from an illustration made by artist Verónica Silva for Ostara - Spring Equinox celebration. It is inspired by the myth of the goddess Eostre and the bird. ONLY 10 available.

Eostre was walking in the woods, when she found a bird hurt laying on the grass. Taking pity on her, she used her powers to transform the little bird into a strong, healthy rabbit!

When the bird woke up as a rabbit, alive, she was so happy that she layed beautiful eggs. Seeing that she had maintained this ability, she decided to offer the eggs to Eostre as a thank you.

From then on, it became tradition to offer Eostre eggs decorated with symbols of what we hope that flourishes in the Spring, with her aid.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Giclée?

"A true giclée print refers to an archival print made from an inkjet printer equipped with a highly permanent set of inks in a wide range of colors. Artists, galleries, and collectors seek out giclée prints because of their unmatched standard of digital reproduction, and archival longevity." - from Brooklyn Editions

My giclées are made in a printshop specialized in this work. They use 12 colours to print it, so the end result is closer to the original work. They combine mineral pigment-based paints with archival quality paper for longevity.

Aging estimates – based on laboratory tests – point to a resistance to fading and colour change of more than 200 years under ideal conditions (storage in the dark at 22.7ºC and 50% RH), and up to 86 years when exposed under glass.

Where are these made?

All made with love in Portugal.

How is it shipped?

Both prints and originals on paper are shipped inside a PLA (more eco-friendly) or OPP envelope* to protect them from humidity. They're also wrapped, and then cardboard is added for support/to avoid bending. Then it is shipped in a cardboard envelope.

*It's not ideal, but necessary, and I'm always on the lookout for more sustainable alternatives.
